About this role

International Teacher – Shanghai (Public School International Department)

Join the international department of a public school with campuses across Shanghai — Xuhui, Lingang, Zhangjiang, and Fengxian. Teachers use both the American and IB curricula, working alongside a diverse faculty of senior Chinese teachers, expatriate teachers, and Chinese teachers with overseas education (about 40% of faculty are expatriates from the US and UK). All teachers bring strong educational backgrounds and extensive experience, and the school offers ongoing opportunities for professional development through seminars and training courses at home and abroad.

Contract Details

  • Total Annual Package: $40,000–$50,000 USD
  • Bonus: $5,000 additional for the new campus near DiShui Lake
  • Completion Bonus: 3 months' salary after 3 years of employment (avg. $10,000 USD)
  • Commitment: 1 year
  • Housing: Generous housing allowance
  • Work Hours: Periods no longer than 21-40 minutes

Requirements

  • Degree in education or a relevant subject, or a teaching license/certification, required
  • IB experience a plus; training provided otherwise
