Terms of Service
Effective 19 September 2026
These terms govern your use of Teaching Nomad. They are a contract between you and Teaching Nomad, Inc., 701 Brazos St, Austin, TX 78701, USA(“Teaching Nomad”, “we”). Different sections apply depending on whether you are a teacher looking for work or a school looking to hire, and both are set out below. By creating an account you accept them.
What Teaching Nomad is — and is not
We are a recruitment platform. We help teachers find roles at schools abroad, and help schools find teachers. That is the whole of our role.
We are not the employer. Any employment relationship, contract, visa sponsorship, salary, or working condition is agreed directly between the teacher and the school. We are not a party to it. We do not set the terms of your employment, we do not pay your salary, and we cannot enforce your contract on your behalf.
We also make no promise of an outcome. We do not guarantee that a teacher will be placed, or that a school will fill a role, within any timeframe or at all.
Eligibility and your account
- You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding contract.
- Provide accurate information and keep it current. Your profile is how schools assess you; material misrepresentation of qualifications, experience, or identity is grounds for removal.
- Keep your login secure and don’t share it. You are responsible for activity under your account.
- One account per person. School accounts may have multiple named staff members.
For teachers
Using Teaching Nomad as a candidate is free. There is no fee to apply for any role.
- When you apply to a role, or accept an introduction, your profile and résumé are shared with that school. You control whether your profile is discoverable by schools generally — that setting is yours to change at any time.
- Verification is optional. You may upload a passport so we can confirm your nationality and date of birth. You are never required to, and no school sees it.
- Placement bonus. Where you are placed with a school we manage directly, and you report that placement to us, you may be eligible for a one-off USD 150 bonus. It is paid at our discretion after we verify the placement with the school, is limited to one per placement, and is not payable where the placement did not originate through Teaching Nomad. It is a thank-you, not a fee we owe you for using the service.
- Be straight with schools.Accepting an introduction, then not responding, wastes a school’s time and reflects on us. Repeated no-shows may lead to removal.
For schools
What we sell
Job post packs, access to our résumé database, and subscription plans. Current prices are shown on the pricing page at the time of purchase and are exclusive of any tax we are required to collect.
- Job post packs — each post runs for 60 days from publication. Unused posts do not roll over indefinitely; the expiry shown at purchase applies.
- Résumé database access — a 60-day window of access from purchase.
- Subscriptions — billed monthly or annually and renewing automatically until cancelled. Cancel at any time from the billing portal in your account; cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for, and you keep access until then.
Some schools are on a managed or pay-per-hire arrangement instead, under a separate written agreement with us. Where that agreement conflicts with these terms, it governs.
How you must treat candidate data
This section matters more than any other in these terms, and we enforce it. When you receive a candidate’s profile or résumé you may use it only to assess and contact that person about roles at your own school.
- Do not sell, licence, publish, or share candidate data with any third party.
- Do not add candidates to marketing lists or send them unrelated communications.
- Do not use the résumé database to build your own competing candidate pool.
- Handle the data in line with the data protection law that applies to you, and delete it when you no longer need it for the role in question.
Breaching this ends your access without refund, and we will tell affected candidates what happened.
Your job postings
You are responsible for everything in your postings being accurate and lawful — including salary, benefits, visa support, and any eligibility requirement you specify.
Our posting form lets you record requirements such as accepted nationalities or age limits, because immigration and work-permit rules in many countries impose them and candidates need to know before applying. Recording such a requirement is your representation that it reflects a genuine legal or visa constraint in your jurisdiction, and that it is lawful where you operate and where you recruit. It is your responsibility, not ours, and we may remove any posting we believe is misleading, discriminatory beyond what the law requires, or used to advertise something other than a genuine vacancy.
Payments
- Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details. Stripe holds them under its own terms.
- Purchases are generally non-refundableonce the benefit has been delivered — a job post published, or résumé database access opened. If something didn’t work as described, contact us and we will put it right; we would rather fix a problem than argue about a refund.
- If a payment fails or is charged back, we may suspend access until it is resolved.
- Prices can change. For subscriptions we will give notice before a change affects your next renewal, and you can cancel before it takes effect.
Acceptable use
Whichever side you are on, do not:
- Post false, misleading, or fraudulent information, or impersonate anyone.
- Advertise anything that is not a genuine teaching vacancy — including schemes that ask candidates for payment.
- Charge teachers a fee to apply for or accept a role found through Teaching Nomad.
- Scrape, bulk-download, or systematically harvest profiles, postings, or any other data.
- Attempt to breach security, access accounts that are not yours, or disrupt the service.
- Harass, abuse, or discriminate against anyone using the platform.
Content you submit
You keep ownership of what you upload — your résumé, your job descriptions, your logo. You give us permission to host, display, and process it as needed to run the service, including showing your profile to schools you apply to or showing your postings to candidates. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except where we must retain something by law.
Only upload material you have the right to upload. Everything else on the platform — the software, design, and our own content — remains ours.
Automated and AI-assisted features
We use automated systems, including third-party AI models, to parse résumés, score how well a candidate fits a role, and read uploaded passports. These assist human judgement; they do not make hiring decisions. Scores and summaries are estimates and may be wrong — treat them as a starting point, not a verdict on a person. The Privacy Policy explains what data this involves.
Availability
We aim to keep the service running but do not promise uninterrupted availability. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features, and we will give reasonable notice before removing something you are paying for.
Disclaimers
The service is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not conduct background checks on schools or teachers beyond the verification steps described in the product, and we do not independently verify every qualification, licence, or job posting. Satisfy yourself about the other party before you commit — that applies to both sides.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost opportunities, or lost data.
Our total liability arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or USD 100. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
In particular, we are not liable for the conduct of any school or teacher, for any employment contract or its breach, for visa or immigration outcomes, or for any decision you make in reliance on a match score or profile.
Indemnity
You agree to indemnify us against claims, losses, and reasonable legal costs arising from your misuse of the service, your breach of these terms, your content, or — if you are a school — your handling of candidate data or the content of your postings.
Suspension and termination
You can close your account at any time from your settings. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms, that we reasonably believe is fraudulent, or where we are required to by law. Where it is fair to do so we will tell you why and give you a chance to put it right first. Terminating for breach does not entitle you to a refund.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA, without regard to its conflict of law rules, and the courts located there have exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer in a country whose law gives you the right to bring proceedings locally, that right is unaffected.
Before starting formal proceedings, please contact us — nearly everything is resolvable by email.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change is material we will update the effective date above and notify account holders by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the revised terms.
